Biopharmaceuticals, also known as biologics, are medical drugs produced using biotechnology and living organisms such as bacteria, yeast, or mammalian cells. Unlike traditional chemically synthesized drugs, biopharmaceuticals are typically composed of proteins, nucleic acids, or living cells and are used to treat a variety of diseases, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, and genetic conditions. Common examples include monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, and vaccines. These therapies are highly targeted and often provide greater efficacy and fewer side effects compared to conventional drugs.
The biopharmaceutical industry has seen rapid growth over the past few decades, driven by advances in genetic engineering, molecular biology, and personalized medicine. As of today, many of the top-selling drugs globally are biologics, reflecting their increasing importance in modern…
Aluminium is a lightweight, silvery-white metal that is the third most abundant element in the Earth's crust, making up about 8% by weight. It is known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and high thermal and electrical conductivity. Due to its low density and non-toxic nature, aluminium is widely used in industries such as transportation (automobiles, aircraft), construction (window frames, roofing), packaging (cans, foils), and electronics. Its ability to be easily shaped, machined, and alloyed with other metals enhances its versatility for various industrial applications.
One of the key advantages of aluminium is its recyclability. It can be melted down and reused indefinitely without losing its properties, making it a highly sustainable material. Recycling aluminium requires only about 5%…
