Following the success of the initial exhibitions in Phnom Penh, the wave of solidarity continues. From January 10th to 12th, the prestigious Knaï Bang Chatt / Kep West will host an exceptional charity auction. The goal: to support artist Khun Vannak’s battle against cancer and provide aid to refugees.

The urgency of a fight, the strength of a collective
In late November, the Cambodian art world spoke with one voice at Meta House and Romchey Pram. Yet, despite this overwhelming generosity, the road remains long for Khun Vannak. Currently battling Stage 4 skin cancer, the artist must now undergo an intensive treatment protocol in a private clinic.
For the next six months, between cutting-edge medical analyses and heavy treatments, Vannak will be forced to suspend his work. This new exhibition in Kep is therefore more than just an artistic showcase; it is a vital necessity to provide him with the best possible chance of recovery and personalized medical care.

“Art for Kep”: A meaningful setting by the sea
The choice of location is deeply symbolic. The history between Kep and Vannak’s partner, Emmanuel, dates back to 2008. It was only natural, then, for Jef Moons, founder of the renowned Knaï Bang Chatt, to open his doors as part of the “Art for Kep” initiative.
Within the Kep West / Wave space—a flagship of eco-responsible modernism—the artworks will resonate with the horizon. Here, art becomes both a catalyst for the seaside town’s development and a shield against illness.

21 Signatures, one single cause
The exhibition is remarkably dense, featuring 21 renowned artists and collectors who have donated 35 works (paintings and photographs). From abstraction to realism, and tradition to modernity, the collection bears witness to a vibrant resilience.
Major figures such as Leang Seckon, Chim Sothy, Suos Sodavy, Sovan Philong, Kim Hak, and Stéphane Delaprée (among many others) have contributed. Every piece acquired represents a direct support for life.

Shared solidarity
True to the Khmer proverb, "Drop by drop, the bamboo fills up," Vannak and Emmanuel wished for this solidarity to ripple beyond their own struggle. Consequently, a minimum of 15% of the proceeds will be donated to support refugees impacted by the war led by Thailand over recent weeks.
These funds will be used to purchase essential supplies for the residents of Avlatan village and for a humanitarian association. For the artist - himself a child of war - it is a way to give back to the country a portion of the hope he has received.
