The young Cambodian woman Oua Perom embodies the sincere and passionate commitment that drives the Kep Education Centre. Born into a modest family, she is the youngest of a small family unit.

Perom's educational journey began in Kep, before she continued her studies at the University of Kampot, immersed in a local culture she carries with pride. She took her first steps in the professional world in the hotel industry, a dynamic sector where she learned rigour and a sense of service. However, this was not where she found her true calling.
In 2022, Oua Perom joined the Kep Education Centre as an assistant. This marked the beginning of a deeply human and professional adventure. Very quickly, her meticulous work and dedication caught the attention of the centre's president, Sylvia Sisowath, who in 2023 entrusted her with the management of this institution dedicated to the development of children.

In her role as director, she oversees daily activities, ensures that children are prepared for educational and social outings, and writes reports that are essential to the smooth running of the centre.
Her role places her at the heart of an organisation where commitment, administrative rigour and teamwork with teachers, staff and management are all essential.
For Oua Perom, this position is much more than just a job. It is a source of happiness and challenges to be met every day. Despite the difficulties inherent in this demanding role, she is firmly committed to her mission, aware that her work is helping to build a more promising future for the younger generations of Kep.

Her wish is simple but admirable: to remain at the helm of the Educational Centre for many years to come, so that she can continue her work and keep instilling the caring energy that makes this establishment such a unique place of learning, sharing and hope.
The story of Oua Perom is that of a woman with a generous heart, whose commitment is part of a long-standing fight for education and the well-being of children. She embodies with grace and determination this rare combination of professional responsibility and sincere passion, revealing how a simple job can become a true vocation.
A day at the Centre
Last Saturday, the centre's sports field was buzzing with excitement as footballers from Kampot came to test their skills against local teams in a friendly match.

She quickly became the life of the day, energising players and spectators alike.

Earlier in the day, she had ensured that the traditional dance classes ran smoothly, punctuating her morning with a few enthusiastic visits to the English classes. It was a colourful programme, which you can relive in pictures here.
