Cambodia & Arts: Kep Music City, a vibrant launch!

On Friday, November 8th, the Raffles Hotel Le Royal hosted to the much-anticipated launch of Kep Music City. The event drew a diverse crowd: influencers, journalists, tourism professionals, and art and music lovers from across Cambodia.

The afternoon kicked off with welcoming speeches from famous expert Mr. Peter Brongers and Mr. Jeff Moons, CEO of Kep West

Following them, artistic director Mr. Marc Cholleton took the stage to unveil the exciting Kep Music City project. He highly encouraged music and art enthusiasts, as well as all kinds of artists, to join this creative journey.

The project itself is a vibrant musical platform in Kep. Its mission is to nurture and showcase young, promising artists through various performances. From November 1st until April 30th, music lovers can expect live performances every weekend at designated venues throughout the city.

The project is a collaborative effort spearheaded by Kep West, working alongside key stakeholders to revive the rhythm of Kep. It marks the second chapter of Art for Kep's endeavors. With the construction of the "The Coral Kingdom" statue nearing completion, Kep Music City aims to add a new layer of artistic and musical energy to Kep.

The event culminated with a musical performance by NOV Dana, Cambodia's renowned singer and actress. Accompanied by the grand piano at Raffles, she captivated the audience with her remarkable talent and positive energy. Her unique sound, blending traditional Khmer music with contemporary styles, resonated deeply with the guests.

The launch served as the perfect platform for reconnecting with tourism professionals from various regions and fostering collaboration between artists. Networking was further fueled by an array of refreshments, including wine, beers, and cocktails. Additionally, guests enjoyed delicious canapés prepared by the talented Chef of the Raffles Hotel Le Royal.
