Village de la Francophonie to Open November 13–17 in Phnom Penh
In a notice dated September 21, 2026, Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism has formally announced the organisation of the "Village de la Francophonie," a side event to the 20th Francophonie Summit, which the country will host in Phnom Penh. The Village will run from November 13 to 17 at the Wat Botum Vatey garden.
Cambodia is preparing for a major diplomatic and cultural moment. As host of the 20th Francophonie Summit, the Kingdom is rolling out a large-scale event: the "Village de la Francophonie," officially announced by the Ministry of Tourism (notice no. 008/MDT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Women's Affairs, and other concerned ministries and institutions.
Set up in the garden of Wat Botum Vatey, in the heart of Phnom Penh, the Village will take place from November 13 to 17, 2026, running in parallel with the Summit itself. It is aimed at ministries and public institutions as well as the private sector, tourism associations, the media, and the general public.
Five spaces built around the Francophonie
The Ministry of Tourism outlines five main components for the Village:
● a space dedicated to the national pavilions of member states of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF);
● a space for daily artistic and cultural performances, organised by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts with the participation of OIF member states and concerned institutions;
● a space for conferences and seminars, open to ministries, public institutions, OIF member states and operators;
● a general exhibition space, bringing together roughly 100 booths for public institutions, private-sector players, development partners and other stakeholders;
● a gastronomy village, showcasing Khmer cuisine alongside culinary specialties from Francophonie countries, along with a range of other activities.
Registration open until October 9
The Ministry of Tourism is inviting all stakeholders to take part in promoting both the 20th Summit and the Village de la Francophonie, particularly in Zones 4 and 5, through exhibition booths, food offerings and other planned activities.

The Village de la Francophonie is shaping up to be one of the Summit's major showcases, giving Phnom Penh a chance to put the cultural, artistic and culinary diversity of the French-speaking world on display for a few days.
