Ucare Pharmacy in Koh Pich: "A key initiative to support the growth of Phnom Penh," says Pascal Catry

The morning of this Monday, November 17, 2025, in Koh Pich, Phnom Penh, was marked by the official opening of a new Ucare pharmacy, an event welcomed by a growing community and one of the main players in urban health in Cambodia.

This unprecedented point of sale, the result of a collaboration between Ucare Pharmacy and OCIC Group, aims to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse clientele in a rapidly changing area where residences, businesses, and spaces dedicated to quality of life intermingle.

Ucare’s expansion strategy in a transforming city

Under the impetus of Pascal Catry, CEO, Ucare is thus strengthening its network in the capital, this time with a pharmacy designed and built by the brand itself—a first in the group's history. During his opening speech, the CEO recalled the process that led to this project:

“We started discussing this project a few months ago and we are very happy to be here today to open it. It took time, but with the efforts made by OCIC to make this place attractive, it was natural for us to participate in its development."

The 85 m² area, the expanded product offering, and the installation from the launch of a skin analysis device illustrate the chain’s innovation and service approach.

This opening is also part of a year of sustained growth, marked by new sites (Techo International Airport, Urban Village, Kep, etc.) and several relocations, with now almost 30 locations in Cambodia.

According to sector data, Ucare captures most of its sales through its physical branches, a sign of Cambodians' attachment to in-store advice and proximity, despite the rise of digital offerings.

Quality offer maintained

Ucare Koh Pich, like other pharmacies in the network, offers its customers a selection of cosmetic and pharmaceutical brands among the most internationally recognized. Among the cosmetic brands, Ucare highlights Avène, known for its dermatological care based on soothing thermal water, Bioderma, famous for its gentle and effective formulas, and Cerave, known for its moisturizing products enriched with ceramides.

These brands are particularly aimed at sensitive skin and specific customer needs. Ucare distributes medicines mainly imported from France and the United States, thus guaranteeing the quality and traceability of products. The pharmacy also collaborates with brands such as L’Oréal and Neutrogena to offer an extensive range of beauty and health products.

This varied and high-quality offer thus meets the expectations of consumers seeking reliable, effective products adapted to the Cambodian context, while benefiting from personalized and professional service in each store.

Testimonials and cross views

Among the speakers, Emmanuel Ly Battalan, representative of the French Embassy, highlighted the trust inspired by Ucare, praising:

"the quality of the products, the seriousness of the pharmaceutical advice, and the assurance of finding on site French reference specialties, particularly in health and beauty."

He emphasized the professionalism of the teams and the importance of providing solid guarantees to both Cambodian and expatriate customers.

This perspective thus reflects the added value of Ucare, the country's leading international pharmaceutical network, committed to continuous improvement of practices, team certification, and welcoming in convivial and secure spaces.

Koh Pich, a new urban gravity center

Driven by the opening of the Koh Norea bridge and many residential or commercial projects, the island of Koh Pich has become one of Phnom Penh’s most dynamic hubs, bringing together families, young professionals, local small businesses, and new inhabitants seeking green spaces and modern services.

OCIC’s strategy—designing vibrant neighborhoods integrating housing, mobility, economy, and health—thus finds a dual realization: with Ucare Pharmacy, but also with the nearby Intercare clinic, to cover all common medical needs.

The Koh Pich pharmacy thus stands out for its ability to combine innovation (skin analysis, personalized advice, international selection), ease of access, and local anchoring. The group closely follows a clientele increasingly attentive to health, prevention (vitamins, supplements, natural products), and the quality of care—in a pharmaceutical market with an annual growth of 6.45%.

Pascal Catry announced the continuation of the expansion strategy towards other dynamic districts of Phnom Penh.

"Expert advice, personalized welcome, quality products, we want every client to leave here reassured, well informed, and satisfied."

A market in deep evolution with promising prospects

The pharmaceutical sector in Cambodia is evolving rapidly: digitalization, the emergence of tele-advice, the rise of natural products and dermocosmetics, and attention to preventive health and service are at the heart of the expectations of new urban consumers, young families, and dynamic executives particularly.

In this regard, Ucare was a pioneer in introducing innovative services (advice hotline, app, expansion of international range, standardization of storage procedures), strengthening its reputation as a leader and responsible player.

A key signal for Cambodia’s health sector

The opening of a new Ucare space in Koh Pich is thus a marker of urban development, increasing accessibility to health services, and the innovation potential in Cambodia’s pharmaceutical sector.

Between economic prospects, public health imperatives, and new expectations of urban residents, Ucare asserts itself as an essential player to support the capitalization of growth and diversification of Phnom Penh’s population.

By combining international experience, local anchoring, and service sense, the Ucare pharmacy in Koh Pich embodies the new generation of Cambodian pharmacies for a modern, connected, and wellness-conscious capital.

Generosity
