The APSARA National Authority has announced the completion of the renovation of Wat Damnak pagoda located along the Siem Reap River, just in front of the Old Market in Wat Damnak village, Sangkat Sala Kamroeuk, Siem Reap town.
This renovation marks the first significant update to the Vihara in a century,’ the ANA said in its press release.
The APSARA National Authority is very optimistic that the newly renovated Vihara will be able to respond effectively to the needs of the local Buddhist community. It should facilitate participation in festivals and enable monks to carry out their duties within the pagoda.
In addition, says the ANA, the Vihara will play a role in educational and research initiatives aimed at preserving Cambodia's ancient heritage. The authority also expects the site to attract tourists, offering them the opportunity to explore and discover the rich cultural history of the region beyond the famous ancient temples.
