Sacred Lotus Evening: The Revolution of Conscious Luxury at the Heart of Cambodia

Ten iconic hotels in Cambodia, from ultra-luxury to timeless excellence, have joined forces to launch Sacred Lotus Evening, a 3 h 30 immersive experience that redefines the standards of high-end tourism.

Sacred Lotus Evening : La Révolution du Luxe Conscient au Cœur du Cambodge

Led by flagship properties such as Amansara, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, and Phum Baitang, this non-extractive, commission-free initiative elevates local innovation onto the global stage, validated through exclusive partnerships with Loro Piana of LVMH.

An Unprecedented Alliance of Hospitality Giants

Amansara (Aman Resorts), Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, Phum Baitang (Zannier Hotels), Anantara Angkor Resort, Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra, Shinta Mani Angkor, Borei Angkor Resort & Spa, Angkor Village Hotel, Sala Lodges, and Lotus Blanc Resort form the founding coalition. After months of rigorous testing, these establishments confirm that Sacred Lotus Evening meets the standards of the most discerning travellers, blending cultural authenticity with measurable social impact — 70 % of revenue goes back to local communities. At $169 per person, the experience is limited to just 20 guests and the proceeds are shared equally: 50 % to local communities and 50 % to the hotels for their concierge services.

Itinerary of an Unforgettable Evening

Sunset Harvest (5:30 pm): Private boat ride on an exclusive lotus lake with Buddhist blessings performed by monks, harvesting lotus stems, and creating traditional bouquets in the golden Cambodian countryside.

Master Artisan Workshops (6:30 pm): Hands-on creation of seven luxury products — revolutionary plant-based leather, naturally oxidised couture scarves, lotus-fiber good luck charms, artisan thread, handmade paper, seed bracelets, and incense. Culinary Workshop (7:45 pm): Crafting a lotus-stuffed lotus bread, bridging art with gastronomy.

Royal Khmer Tasting (8:30 pm): A sublime eight-course vegetarian meal celebrating lotus in contemporary haute cuisine.

Lotus Silk Farm: The Birthplace of a Unique Circular Economy

A pioneer since 2003, Lotus Silk Farm transforms the lotus plant into a luxury micro-fibre — an innovation from 2009 that is distributed by Loro Piana (LVMH), was honoured by UNESCO in 2012, and recognised by French President François Hollande in 2015. Guests follow the entire cycle, from harvesting to runway distribution by global couture houses, supporting 200 artisan and organic farm families. This excellence positions Cambodia as a land of innovation, far from merely heritage-based stereotypes.

Proudly Khmer Foundation: Luxury with Solidarity

Launched on 12 December 2025 in Siem Reap, this foundation dedicates 100 % of its funds to scholarships and training for women and girls from border areas (Banteay Meanchey, Kamping Puoy) affected by regional tensions impacting 500 000 displaced people.

Each evening generates $1 000 to educate 20 high school girls or train an artisan, embodying a model of conscious tourism, where the global elite help finance Cambodian resilience.
