Pickleball in Phnom Penh: The awakening of a passion in the heart of the Mekong River

On 4 October 2025, the Cambodian capital will vibrate to the rhythm of rackets at the Community Pickleball Event organised at the Hotel Cambodiana, an emblem of refinement on the banks of the Mekong

From 2pm, the programme invites newcomers and experienced players alike to get together and immerse themselves in this discipline, which is winning over many tennis players and other racquet sports. After a fun-filled game session, the evening will open with a networking cocktail, encouraging exchanges and new encounters in the prestigious Picklemonster Center.

The event highlights a fast-growing sporting phenomenon in Phnom Penh. Barely introduced a few years ago, pickleball is now hailed as the fastest-growing racketball discipline in Cambodia. Its accessibility, for both adults and children, and its social dynamism are attracting a new generation of players, eager for fun and friendly competition.

The Picklemonster Center at the Hôtel Cambodiana is just one of a number of excellent facilities that reflect this trend. This unique setting, open every day from 7am to 10pm, offers four modern outdoor courts, supervised by an experienced team who welcome beginners and enthusiasts alike. Whether you want to learn the rules of the game or fine-tune your technique, coaching sessions are available, by prior arrangement, for adults and children aged 7 and over.
