The inauguration of the fourth edition of the French Market in Phnom Penh was honored by the presence of three major personalities reflecting the spirit and vitality of French-Khmer relations.
The ceremonial proceedings were led by Mr. Cyril Girot, President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cambodia (CCIFC), accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Olivier Richard, French Ambassador to Cambodia, and Her Excellency Madam CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce and guest of honor.

A Festive and Friendly Setting
In this exceptional setting, the largest green space in Cambodia’s capital was transformed into a true festival of cultural and commercial encounters. Between gourmet tastings, fair-trade handicrafts, and areas dedicated to art and culture, the public enjoyed a rich and varied offering, reflecting the vitality of the French community in Cambodia.
Diversity in the Spotlight
Numerous and varied food stands allowed visitors to savor traditional dishes embodying the richness of French gastronomy. The event also showcased key players in the fields of wellness and health, with noteworthy representation from the pharmaceutical, medical, and paramedical sectors.

The public’s enthusiasm was immediate and massive, with pleasant cool weather adding to the delight of the leisurely stroll. From the opening, a dense and joyful crowd surged down the pathways of this green space, a picturesque and welcome escape for families and the curious alike. While the central aisle sometimes proved difficult to navigate, this only testified to the immense popularity of the event.
A Dynamic Sporting Touch
Meanwhile, a sporty atmosphere enlivened the Market through spaces run by Decathlon and a padel court set up by KhmerPadel, offering people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy physical activities in a friendly ambiance.
The day’s program was also filled with cultural activities and diverse workshops, reinforcing the sense of closeness between exhibitors and the public.

Youth Drawn to the Greenery
Many young Cambodians took advantage of the day to wander through the Embassy’s verdant park, a true haven of freshness in the heart of the capital. Between tastings, many paused to take selfies beneath majestic trees, capturing moments of relaxation and conviviality. For Phnom Penh residents, it was a rare opportunity to discover a peaceful, green space.
A Strong Sign of Closeness
Beyond commercial exchanges, the day was marked by a warm atmosphere and a keen sense of closeness. The event was attended by the French Ambassador to Cambodia, who personally toured the Market, meeting each exhibitor. This availability emphasized the importance placed by the institution on a direct connection with the French community and the Cambodian public.

Total and Promising Success
The record turnout and the attentive faces of numerous Khmer visitors—clearly attracted by the diversity and quality of the offering—confirmed the resounding success of this edition.
The French Market 2025 was much more than a simple commercial event: it acted as a powerful catalyst, reaffirming, in a magnificent and historic setting, the dynamism of France in Cambodia.
