On the first anniversary of the untimely passing of Douglas Victor Nathaporn Rahothan, affectionately known as Donvirao, Art Home Phnom Penh is proud to present Legacy in Oil, a tribute exhibition celebrating the life and work of this extraordinary young artist.

Born in Saint-Nazaire, France, in 1998, Donvirao's artistic career has been marked by relentless experimentation and profound emotion that shines through in every brushstroke.
Through twenty-two carefully selected works, this exhibition traces Donvirao's evolution from his early forays into abstraction and resin to his masterful oil paintings. Each work reveals a unique chapter in his creative exploration, reflecting his technical virtuosity and the sincere narrative behind his art.
Having spent his formative years in Cambodia, Donvirao was deeply inspired by the country's history and resilience. Painting became more than just a profession; it was his refuge, a means of healing and transformation that he described as “the growth of a young beginner.” Although his life was tragically cut short at the age of 26, Donvirao's legacy lives on through more than a hundred works preserved in collections around the world.
Supporting a great cause
In honor of Donvirao's spirit and community commitment, all proceeds from Legacy in Oil will be donated to Inclusive Cambodia, a nonprofit organization working to promote inclusive disability and gender practices in Phnom Penh.
This partnership is a continuation of Donvirao's previous exhibition, Continuum, whose profits funded six months of essential mental health services for marginalized communities.
