Phnom Penh came alive last Saturday during the first edition of the Great Cambodian Craft Beer Festival (GCCBF) at Coconut Park, Koh Pich—an event that drew over a thousand visitors in an exceptional festive atmosphere.

Organized by Bash Brewing and Botanico Brewing Co., with support from the German Business Cambodia section of EuroCham, the event celebrated the local craft beer scene with resounding success.
An Electric and Friendly Atmosphere
The atmosphere was buzzing from the 2 p.m. opening, transforming Coconut Park into a hub of collective joy where locals, expatriates, and families mingled under clear skies. Interactive games, lounge areas, and the park’s stunning riverside view all added to the convivial mood, crowned by the “People’s Choice Beer” vote that engaged many participants. More than a thousand beer enthusiasts attended, showing the growing enthusiasm for premium local products.

Outstanding Music Performances
The musical lineup was a triumph, featuring six live bands headlined by the Kampot Play Boys and Checkered Past, followed by Ms. Sarawan, Bustaka Band, Zak Zoot, and Cambodia Sound Base.Later in the evening, DJ Cory set the stage ablaze with a dynamic mix of classic Khmer hits and international tunes, keeping the energy high until midnight.

Culinary and Brewing Abundance
Over 10 Cambodian craft breweries and 20 food stalls offered a profusion of unique beers and international dishes, served with pints aplenty.
Festivalgoers enjoyed this abundance nonstop, with $5 presale tickets including a free beer—an offer that boosted both accessibility and generosity. Pop-ups like the Roodbar Cocktail Lounge and a cigar lounge rounded out this generous experience, making the GCCBF a genuine success.
