Right now at Factory Phnom Penh, a major drive to collect material donations is underway to support the displaced communities from Angkor Chum — and every contribution can genuinely change a family’s life.

A Humanitarian Emergency in Angkor Chum
For several months, thousands of families have been relocated to areas with very limited infrastructure, living in precarious conditions and facing severe food insecurity. In Angkor Chum, many children, elderly people, and vulnerable households lack stable resources and rely directly on solidarity to eat, get clothing, and allow children to continue their schooling.
A group of Factory Phnom Penh community members has organized to provide concrete and immediate help, in coordination with local authorities from Siem Reap. The goal is straightforward: gather as many essential goods as possible in a few days and deliver them directly to the displaced families from Angkor Chum.
A 100% In-Kind Donation Drive
This initiative is based entirely on in-kind donations — no financial contributions are accepted — to ensure total transparency and that every item goes directly to families in need. Priority needs include:
Clothing for children and adults, preferably lightweight and in good condition
Non-perishable food (rice, dried noodles, canned goods, powdered milk, etc.)
School supplies (notebooks, pens, backpacks, colored pencils) so children can continue learning
Essential hygiene products (soap, shampoo, sanitary products, diapers, toothpaste, masks, etc.) and basic medical supplies if possible
All donations will be sorted at Factory Phnom Penh, packed, and then transported directly to Angkor Chum by the volunteer team.
How and When to Participate
Donations are being collected from December 15 to 19, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, at the main reception of Factory Phnom Penh. Simply bring your clean, gently used items to the collection point at the site entrance, where volunteers will be present to welcome and guide you.
Distribution in the camps is planned for December 20 and 21, 2025, meaning every day of the drive counts toward loading vehicles and serving as many families as possible. For practical questions, organizers can be reached at +855 95 464 797, +855 17 999 546, or +855 95 959 264.
Transparency and Trust
The teams have authorization from the local authorities in Siem Reap to document living conditions in the camps and to film the donation hand-overs — always with respect for the dignity of those receiving help. These images and testimonies will be used to inform the public about the daily realities of displaced communities and to clearly show how donations are collected, transported, and distributed.
Organizers also commit to sharing a detailed report of the mission — with visuals, field stories, and a clear description of how donated goods were used — to strengthen trust among everyone mobilizing behind this effort. Anyone or any organization wishing to follow the initiative or offer additional support (for example, in logistics, transport, or promotion) is welcome.
A Week to Mobilize
Time is limited — just one week to raise awareness, gather donations, and prepare them for transport to Angkor Chum. Anyone can help, whether by donating goods, spreading the call on social media, or encouraging their company, school, or community to organize a mini-collection.
In a national context already deeply strained by population displacement and regional tensions, this act of local solidarity sends a powerful message of unity and humanity. By responding to this call, you help bring warmth, dignity, and hope to families who have lost nearly everything — yet have not lost their right to support and care.
