Music and art take the stage at Musica Felice’s 14th Charity Concert next month

“Our charity concerts are a celebration of the arts in all its forms,” says Miwako Fujiwara, Musica Felice’s conductor and director. “In addition to the choir’s music, this concert will showcase beautiful artwork from across the Europe Union’s member countries. The audience will experience it in a creative and fun way. It will be like wandering through a European museum.”

The volunteer choir will perform a wide range of music, from Monteverdi and Bach, to folk music and contemporary hits. The concert involves sixty people, including choir members, special guests and production teams, representing 21 nations.

Five Khmer musicians will perform, bringing the sounds of their traditional instruments to the stage, as well as musette player Michel Teurio.

An exciting addition to this concert will be a live painting by Italian artist Romain Garzonnio, known Roma. He will create a new piece of art in real-time as the choir performs.

“It’s an honour to have Roma join us on stage and bring the audience in on his creative process,” Fujiwara says. “He’s a talented artist and produces such stunning paintings. We’ll auction the piece he creates to raise funds for our charities.”

The European Union Delegation to Cambodia will be supporting the concert once again, making it part of their Europe Day celebrations.

Also returning as a long-time sponsor is Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, who will be hosting the event.

“Musica Felice always delivers wonderful concerts that unite the community through the beauty of music,” says Charles-Henri Chevet, Area General Manager at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.

“As a proud partner, we have supported 14 charity concerts to date that benefited charitable organisations across Cambodia. This collaboration reflects Sofitel’s deep commitment to celebrating the arts, honouring local culture, and creating meaningful connections through heartfelt generosity. Supporting initiatives like this is part of how we bring our brand’s values to life—where luxury meets purpose.”

Musica Felice’s semi-annual concerts brings people together from across the city, with almost 1,000 people at its last performance.

Musica Felice donated a total of $126,674 to 21 charities from all of their concerts and other charity events. Proceeds from the charity concert will benefit two organizations in Cambodia: Sala Baï Hotel and Restaurant School and Tiny Toones.

Sala Baï Hotel & Restaurant School is an organization that fights poverty and human trafficking through professional training of disadvantaged youth in Siem Reap. Dedicated entirely to underprivileged youth, especially girls, the program trains 150 students each year in key hospitality professions.

"We are thankful to Musica Felice for recognizing our cause and supporting our work," says Renaud Fichet, Sala Baï's program director. "The funds raised will have a significant impact on our mission to give disadvantaged youth a future full of opportunities. We are also pleased that this charity concert will raise awareness about our hotel, restaurant, and school in Siem Reap."

Tiny Toones provides a safe, positive environment for at‐risk children and youth in Phnom Penh to channel their energy and creativity into the arts and education. They empower them to build self‐confidence in their daily lives, aim for better employment possibilities and feel supported pursuing their dreams.

"We are excited to be chosen as a beneficiary for Musica Felice's 14th Charity Concert," says Chhoeung Shhort Reuth, the general manager for Tiny Toones. "Both of our organizations promote the arts in unique ways, so it's a great collaboration. The funds raised will go a long way to help the youth in our community. The children are happy to attend the event."

Tickets are available from choir members or online, and range from $30 for premier seating, $12 for adults, $5 for children under the age of 12 and $3 for Khmer students.
