A Home Before It Was a Hotel

Before welcoming travelers from around the world, Knai Bang Chatt began as three private retreats, imagined by owner Jef Moons alongside Boris Vervoordt. That intimate origin never really faded: it still shows in the way objects are arranged, more like a home than a catalogue. Almost everything the eye meets here is authentic, drawn from Cambodian heritage, and entrusted to guests like a family secret.

Under the Stairs, the Jar That Changed Everything

In the Blue House, an old jar sits quietly beneath the staircase. Long considered imperfect, it is now regarded as the soul of the place. It embodies wabi-sabi, the Japanese philosophy that celebrates the beauty of imperfect things and the grace of accepting oneself as one is.
