During her stay in France, Dr. Carolyne Pung also had the opportunity to engage in discussions with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace, alongside business leaders and international economic executives.

Launched by President Emmanuel Macron in 2018, Choose France brings together each year international investors, business leaders, and economic decision-makers to promote investment, innovation, and international cooperation. The 2026 edition gathered several major figures from the global economic sphere, including Xavier Niel, founder of Iliad; Chia Song Hwee, CEO of Temasek; as well as Masayoshi Son, CEO of SoftBank, who announced a €75 billion investment in France, alongside representatives of multinational corporations, sovereign wealth funds, and major international companies.

As Vice President of Canadia Group, which consolidates its financial activities under Canadia Investment Holding Plc and its diversified non-financial activities under Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC), Dr. Carolyne Pung contributes to the group’s development across several key sectors of the Cambodian economy.

She has notably played a major role in the development of French education in Cambodia by founding the École Française Internationale de Phnom Penh (EFI) as well as the Université Francophone d’Asie (UFA). Beyond the education sector, she has also contributed to strengthening long-term relationships with French institutions and economic organizations.

For more than three years, OCIC has also maintained close cooperation with the French Embassy in Cambodia and the Institut français du Cambodge, illustrating the group’s ongoing commitment to Francophonie and French cultural initiatives in the Kingdom.

This participation comes as Cambodia actively prepares for the 20th Francophonie Summit, which will be held in Phnom Penh next November. This major international event is expected to welcome delegations from more than 88 countries and contribute to strengthening cultural, economic, and institutional ties within the Francophone community.

OCIC is participating in these preparations by supporting the organizers, with several major events set to take place within projects developed by the group, notably the Summit at the OCIC Convention Center Chroy Changvar as well as FrancoTech at the Koh Pich Convention Center. This commitment also reflects the long-standing ties between Canadia Group and the Francophone community, with a significant Francophone presence within the group, including more than 50 French employees.

Through her participation in economic exchanges between Cambodia, ASEAN, and international partners, Dr. Carolyne Pung continues to promote dialogue, connectivity, and opportunities for collaboration.
