Discussions covered several sectors, including healthcare, energy, infrastructure, education, retail, real estate, investment and aviation.

Building on the OCIC–WCCI partnership

The visit builds on OCIC’s recent partnership with World Citi Colleges International, Inc. (WCCI), a Philippine education group. On 1 October 2026, the two organisations signed an agreement to establish WCC International Aero Tech University in Phnom Penh, bringing Philippine experience in aviation education and training to Cambodia.

The Philippines’ ASEAN chairmanship as a backdrop

“Our partnership with WCCI is an important first step in building closer ties with the Philippines,” said Carolyne Pung. “We hope this visit will open the way to new contacts, more exchanges and new projects between our two countries, especially as the Philippines holds the ASEAN chairmanship in 2026.”

The visit comes at a good time to bring Cambodian and Philippine businesses closer and to identify new areas of cooperation in the region.

“Having started my career in the Philippines, where I later founded a company, I have a strong personal connection with the country,” said Thierry Tea, Vice President of OCIC. “I see significant opportunities for collaboration between Cambodia and the Philippines in many sectors, including healthcare, infrastructure and aviation. The next step is to turn this dialogue into concrete partnerships and projects.”
