"Celebrating Cambodia", an event to highlight Cambodia's unique identity

"Celebrating Cambodia," scheduled to be held at the end of this year, is an event to celebrate a vibrant society, showcase the uniqueness of Cambodia's identity and promote her progress.

These remarks were made by H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, during a preparatory meeting for the "Celebrating Cambodia" event at the ministry yesterday afternoon

The minister emphasised that this is a mass programme that will draw the participation of people from all walks of life, and he advised the media teams to collaborate in widely promoting the forthcoming event both inside and outside the country.

According to Sok Sabayna, a member of the organising commission, who was also present at the preparatory meeting, "Celebrating Cambodia", initiated by Hun Many, President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), will be organised on New Year's Eve, 31 December 2024, at the public park in front of the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.

The event will feature a traditional cultural parade, folk music, a "Celebrating Cambodia" parade, and a variety of other entertainment programmes, accompanied by giant puppets, giant lanterns, and giant balloons.The objective of "Celebrating Cambodia" is to foster a sense of unity and belonging among all members of the Cambodian diaspora, both within the country and abroad. It serves as a platform that provides an opportunity for individuals from diverse social classes, communities, and backgrounds to express their shared sense of identity as members of a unified Cambodian society.
