Cambodia Raises a Glass: The First Great Cambodian Craft Beer Festival Set to Make History

The Cambodian craft beer scene is about to shine with the announcement of the very first Great Cambodian Craft Beer Festival (GCCBF), scheduled for Saturday, January 31. This landmark event—the largest of its kind in the Kingdom—will take over the popular Coconut Park on Koh Pich Island from 2:00 p.m. to midnight, promising an unforgettable day devoted to local flavors, live music, and festive entertainment.

An Explosion of Local Flavors

More than 10 Cambodian craft breweries will showcase their unique creations, joined by over 20 vendor booths offering a richly diverse culinary experience. Visitors will sample a wide range of beers and vote to crown the People’s Choice Beer, turning the festival into a truly interactive celebration.

The growing popularity of craft beer among both locals and expatriates reflects a rising appetite for premium, personalized products, with industry experts reporting a notable increase in sales.

Organization and Prestigious Support

Organized by two pillars of Cambodia’s brewing scene—Bash Brewing and Botanico Brewing Co.—the festival benefits from the support of the German Business Cambodia (GBC) section of EuroCham.

Marco Gunther, Director of Botanico and member of the Craft Brewers Association of Cambodia (CBAC), notes:

“Until now, craft beer events have been modest; there was a lack of a major gathering focused on the Khmer public. With the growing enthusiasm among Cambodians, now is the perfect time!”

Daniel Marchette of Bash Brewing adds that the event embodies a modern, international Cambodia.

Games and interactive activities will round out the program, ensuring full immersion in the festival’s vibrant atmosphere.

Partners and Amenities

Sponsored by Sparkx Solutions, Degrasan Cambodia, and Bertie Phnom Penh—the capital’s cigar lounge—festivalgoers will enjoy a pop-up cigar lounge and the Roodbar Cocktail Lounge for alternatives to beer.

Pre-sale tickets are priced at $5 (with the first beer free), and $7.50 at the door.

This event marks a turning point for Cambodian brewing culture, blending local tradition with global influences in a warm, dynamic setting. Don’t miss this unique occasion.
