Cambodia: EuroCham unveils its new Board of Directors

The European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Cambodia has announced its new Board of Directors and Executive Committee for 2025. The announcement was made at the chamber's annual general meeting held on 27 March 2025.

Main appointments

Gabriele Faja, Soundskool representative, has become the new President of EuroCham. Mr Faja, who is also President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce (ItaCham), aims to ensure continuity of EuroCham's core agenda while fostering stronger links between its seven national chapters.

Vice-presidents: The vice-presidents are Cyril Girot (Aéroports du Cambodge and CCIFC), Tassilo Brinzer (Hops Garden/Chew & Bash and GBC), Martin McCarthy (CPBF Project Charles and BritCham) and Julie Kéo (DFDL Cambodia).

129 voters took part in the election, representing 59% of EuroCham's ordinary members. This year's Board is notable for its diversity, with members from a wide range of nationalities and professional backgrounds, including three women.

Strategic priority

EuroCham aims to play a key role in promoting European investment and supporting private sector growth in Cambodia. The new management should build on past achievements, focusing on advocacy, networking and business support services. The Chamber's efforts are key to encouraging trade and investment between Europe and Cambodia, with a growing presence of over 400 members in seven national chapters.

About the new chairman

Gabriele Faja is a multi-faceted entrepreneur and arts enthusiast, CEO of Soundskool Music Cambodia and founder of The Piano Shop Cambodia, Faja has been instrumental in promoting music education and encouraging a vibrant arts scene in the Kingdom.

Faja's journey began with his passion for music, nurtured by his family and a formal education at the Royal College of Music in London. He first launched a music agency in London before moving to Southeast Asia in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. In Cambodia, he set up Soundskool Music, which has become a leading institution in the field of music education.

In addition to his business ventures, Faja has been involved in major cultural projects. In particular, he was production director of the opera ‘Madama Butterfly’, which premiered at the Koh Pich theatre in Phnom Penh. Faja is also a key figure in the Arts Committee of the Italian-Cambodian Business Association (ICBA), where he oversees the music section. This committee aims to foster cultural exchanges and promote the arts in Cambodia by organising various events, such as the Italian Design Day and the European Film Festival.
