In the elegant reception hall of the Rosewood Phnom Penh, last night's event on April 2, 2026, transformed the Cambodian art scene into a high-flying art salon.

During the Artists for Humanity – Everyday People gala, over 60 works from the collective selection exhibited in three flagship hotels in the capital were presented to a refined assembly of guests, patrons, and collectors.
The warm and sophisticated atmosphere flowed into enthusiastic and convivial auctions, with all lots quickly and unanimously sold. Overall, since the project's launch, this initiative has raised approximately $30,000, demonstrating sustained support for both artists and vulnerable communities.
Birth of a Committed Project in a Sensitive Context
The Artists for Humanity – Everyday People initiative is rooted in the context of border tensions between Cambodia and Thailand, but chooses to respond through creation rather than division.
Sixteen Cambodian artists, both emerging and established, have thus united their visual voices to give birth to Art in Action, a movement blending contemporary expression with measurable social impact. Their choice of mediums—painting, plural narrative, assertive pictorial gesture—lends the exhibition an intensity that is both poetic and resolutely engaged.

A Traveling Exhibition in Three Exceptional Venues
Over several days, the public was able to discover the collective collection in three particularly prestigious hotels: Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh, and Rosewood Phnom Penh. Each venue offered a unique setting: the colonial heritage and historical elegance of the Raffles, the contemporary chic of the Courtyard, and the architectural boldness of the Rosewood, a perfect illustration of downtown Phnom Penh's modernity.
This artistic tour multiplied encounters between the public, artists, and inspiring portraits of everyday life in Cambodia, the true heart of the Everyday People theme.
An Auction Sale in Service of Vulnerable Communities
The evening of April 2 marked the highlight of this adventure. In a plush and lively atmosphere, the Rosewood Phnom Penh orchestrated an exceptional dinner interwoven with masterfully conducted auctions. All the works presented found buyers, underscoring both the local market's appetite and the sincere attachment to the cause championed by the event. Among the highlights, the spotlight on artists like Im Seila, whose painting was presented in preview, marked minds with its expressive intensity.
The funds generated follow a deliberately balanced model:
50% of the sales proceeds go directly to the artists, supporting their practice and economic autonomy.
50% are donated to Heartprint Cambodia, an NGO active in education, health, housing access, and community development, particularly in Siem Reap.
This mechanism creates a virtuous ecosystem where art becomes a vector for personal and social emancipation, while nourishing the most deprived areas.

An Artistic Signature That Resonates Far Beyond an Evening
The collective exhibition and its auction have thus given the contemporary Cambodian art scene beautiful visibility, while keeping its feet firmly planted in the country's social reality. In a challenging context, Artists for Humanity – Everyday People proves that art can be both a luxury good for collectors and a force for mutual aid for communities.
