The iconic Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh and the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap have received distinguished recognition from the MICHELIN Guide, awarded the prestigious MICHELIN Keys during the guide’s inaugural edition for Southeast Asia. These two landmark hotels rank among only ten in the kingdom to earn this esteemed distinction, celebrating their excellence in hospitality.

Located just steps from the Royal Palace, Phnom Penh’s Raffles Hotel Le Royal is lauded by the Guide as "the capital’s most beautiful hotel," showcasing a seamless blend of timeless elegance and modern refinement. Meanwhile, the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor captivates visitors with its genuine colonial French heritage—a true masterpiece adorned with 1930s Art Deco furnishings, clawfoot bathtubs, and a meticulously restored vintage elevator cage. Behind its historic façade lies the full spectrum of modern luxury demanded by today’s discerning Asian market.

Unveiled on October 8, 2025, the MICHELIN Keys recognize outstanding hotels worldwide, akin to the renowned MICHELIN Stars awarded to top restaurants.

In addition, Raffles Hotel Le Royal was named the number two hotel in Southeast Asia at the 2025 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, one of the hospitality industry's most respected international rankings. Notably, Cambodian hospitality was also celebrated, with the country ranking fifth among the world’s friendliest nations according to the readers of Condé Nast Traveler.

Dagmar Lyons, General Manager of Raffles Hotel Le Royal, remarked on the significance of the dual honors from MICHELIN and Condé Nast Traveler in the same year, underscoring the hotel’s status as a world-renowned destination known for exceptional hospitality, timeless elegance, and unforgettable experiences.

Originally opened in 1929, Raffles Hotel Le Royal now boasts 175 rooms and suites, fully restored in 2019 following a year-long renovation project. The hotel’s classic charm is enhanced by contemporary design elements inspired by French colonial, Khmer, and Art Deco styles.

The slightly younger Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, established in 1932, once served as a haven for explorers and archaeologists studying the temples of Angkor. Its rooms, suites, and villas epitomize 1930s Art Deco sophistication, skillfully blending European refinement with Cambodian accents and modern touches.

Joseph Colina, General Manager, expressed pride in the MICHELIN Guide honor, which underscores the hotel’s commitment to preserving its unique heritage while delivering a deeply rooted historical and elegant guest experience.

Earlier this year, the two hotels partnered to launch an exclusive seven-day escape package, "A Tale of Two Cities," weaving together history, glamour, and adventure between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap—celebrating the grandeur of the Raffles brand and the charm of their respective cities.

Since its founding in 1887 in Singapore, the Raffles brand has upheld a tradition of excellence symbolizing luxury infused with culture, beauty, and legendary service. Today present in major capitals and prestigious destinations worldwide, Raffles remains the epitome of refined and timeless hospitality.
