The Timeless Khmer Heritage Magnified: Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor Welcomes DinArt in Residence

The Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, a timeless symbol of colonial elegance and hospitality excellence in the heart of the Khmer kingdom, welcomes the innovative artist Teang Borin, better known as 'DinArt,' in residence.

On the eve of the establishment’s centenary, this collaboration marks a new tribute to the vitality of the Cambodian art scene, as the hotel continues its commitment to showcasing the country’s remarkable talents.

DinArt, a self-taught and daring artist, makes the centuries-old traditions of Cambodia resonate through a flamboyant and contemporary aesthetic.

His latest exhibition, inspired by the majesty of Khmer royalty and the color palette of the famous Raffles doormen, stands out for its powerful contrasts and a profusion of vibrant tones.

The curator of the Tribe gallery, Nat Di Maggio, explains: "The central concept revives the Khmer royal traditions, particularly the palace guards' trousers. In the past, the colors of the royal attire changed daily, reflecting the spirituality of the ancestral calendar."

On December 18, art lovers will have the opportunity to engage with DinArt during an exclusive 'Meet-the-Artist' event at the Grand Hotel d’Angkor, featuring a gin and canapé tasting for a $25 entry fee.

The artworks can also be discovered through guided tours led by DinArt or Nat Di Maggio, immersing visitors in a highly personalized and immersive artistic experience.

"Raffles is committed to honoring exceptional Cambodian artists and is delighted to present this Curated Collection celebrating DinArt’s genius," emphasizes Joseph Colina, General Manager of the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor.

This exhibition follows a series of major artistic events orchestrated by the hotel in 2025: a duo of artists presented in October and an exhibition dedicated to Channy Chhoeun, a Khmer painter celebrated internationally.

Opened in 1932 as a haven for pioneers and archaeologists exploring Angkor Wat, the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has established itself as an essential landmark in the living history of Siem Reap, now recognized among the greatest UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Since 2024, the hotel has offered its 'Curated Journeys,' privileged experiences focused on local culture and Khmer history, along with a program to valorize the traditions rooted in the daily life of the resort.

This innovation has earned the establishment international distinctions: In 2025, the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor appears on Fodor’s list of the ‘100 Most Incredible Hotels in the World’ and on Travel + Leisure's list of the ‘500 Best Hotels in the World’ for the fourth consecutive year; it also received the prestigious ‘One MICHELIN Key,’ a first for a Cambodian hotel.
