Three athletes will represent Cambodia at the Paris Olympics, S.E. Thong Khon, president of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia sports chief, said on Wednesday.
S.E. Thong Khon said the Kingdom would send a 15-member sports delegation, including three athletes, to the Games. He added that the Olympics had provided a great opportunity for Cambodian athletes to compete against world-class competitors in various sports.
"I would like to urge all athletes to compete in accordance with technical rules and the principle of fair play based on the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship," he underlined.
Khon added that he hoped the athletes would achieve good results and break their current records. The delegation will leave for the Games on 21 July.
Cambodia first participated in the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne, Australia. Athletes from the Southeast Asian country have yet to win an Olympic medal.
