A true legend of refinement for 94 years, the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has just been named among the 100 most incredible hotels in the world by Fodor’s, an American travel authority for more than eight decades.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’AngkorThe iconic hotel of Siem Reap is one of only 15 properties in Asia to receive this honor—and the only one in Cambodia to earn this prestigious distinction.
“The opulence of the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor pays tribute to the splendor of Angkor Wat and its mythical temples, reflecting the grandeur of this historic gem,” writes Fodor’s in its review.“The palace has hosted royalty, heads of state, Hollywood stars, and celebrated artists. Its rich heritage unfolds through its Art Deco architecture and Khmer colonial inspirations.”
The magazine also praises the hotel’s spa and refined dining options, describing the Khmer restaurant 1932 as an “unmissable experience,” noting that “the attention to service matches the perfection of an exceptional meal.”
This recognition crowns an extraordinary year for the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, which had already been named in July among Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards — one of the most coveted distinctions in international hospitality.
Earlier in the year, the hotel also appeared for the fourth consecutive time on the magazine’s list of the 500 Best Hotels in the World.
Inaugurated in 1932 as an elegant stopover for archaeologists and explorers of the Angkor kingdom, the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor embodies the timeless spirit of the 1930s with French Art Deco style enriched by Cambodian influences and modern comfort. Its rooms, suites, and villas evoke the charm of the past combined with contemporary elegance.
The hotel also offers a collection of exclusive experiences called “Curated Journeys”: a bespoke candlelit dinner among the temples of Angkor, an exploration of the “Lost Civilizations of Angkor by Vespa,” and the “Siem Reap Art Tour,” a fascinating immersion into the local art scene. Its internal “Resort Programme” celebrates Cambodian traditions and cultural heritage.
After meticulous restoration completed in 2019, nearly all 119 rooms and suites have regained their original splendor. The emblematic metal-and-wood elevator in the lobby—a symbol of timeless elegance—remains intact, as does the serene atmosphere of the legendary Elephant Bar.
