The White Mansion Hotel, located in the heart of Phnom Penh, welcomed Sara Duong and Cindy Nguyen, the two columnists—good-living and full of energy—who regularly contribute to the Tourism and Gastronomy sections of Cambodge Mag.

Their feedback highlights a convenient location, efficient service, and quality meals.
Location and First Impressions
Phnom Penh attracts visitors with its historical sites and urban buzz. The White Mansion is therefore well-positioned.
"Very well located, the hotel benefits from an ideal spot for exploring Phnom Penh on foot," affirms Sara. This makes it easy to visit the Royal Palace, the National Museum, and the Mekong riverfront.
Upon arrival, the lush garden leaves a strong impression. "The little garden at the entrance is very cute, very green, with a slightly wild vibe that creates a pleasant atmosphere right from the start," describes Cindy.
The welcome is rated positively: "Very nice welcome, warm and professional. The staff is smiling, available, and truly welcoming," she adds. Sara specifies:"The service is excellent, with particularly friendly, professional staff always ready to help. Check-in was quick and efficient."
Architecture and Rooms
The building is remarkable. "The place and its architecture are exceptional and deserve to be highlighted more," notes Sara, mentioning reduced external visibility due to the trees. The lobby impresses:
"The lobby is very impressive, especially thanks to its magnificent staircase that adds a lot of character and elegance."
The rooms are spacious. "The room is very large, the bed quite comfortable, the bedding pleasant. The bathroom is also clean, spacious, and functional," details Cindy. Sara adds:"The rooms are large, spacious, and very clean." Additional decoration is suggested for more personality:"The overall setup lacks a bit of charm and decoration to bring more personality, modernity, and 'pep'," suggests Cindy.

Outdoor Spaces and Pool
The hotel, with its Neo-Khmer architecture evoking a 1950s-60s ambiance, features vast spaces.
"The hotel offers a traditional vibe close to the 1960s—and these large spaces are a real plus," appreciates Cindy.
The pool is a highlight: "The pool is pleasant [...] pretty, and the outdoor space is very nice, green, and welcoming," note both travelers while suggesting a few minor improvements.

Meals: Dinner and Breakfast
Dinner offers a varied menu. "Dinner was good, with a varied menu blending Western and Khmer dishes," indicates Sara. Cindy notes: "A few small service errors (zucchini soup served instead of mushroom soup, salmon wrap instead of the ordered salmon salad).A minor mistake explained by confusion from an apprentice currently on internship, so forgivable.Aside from that, dinner was excellent. The salmon in particular was very well cooked, flavorful, with a white sauce that paired perfectly."
Breakfast is a strong point.
"Breakfast is a real highlight. It's very well prepared, with tasty and generous dishes. The Hainan chicken rice was particularly successful, perfectly seasoned and executed. The American breakfast was also very good, with well-cooked products presented with care. The fresh juices are excellent and truly refreshing," notes Sara.
Cindy adds: "Very good breakfast, with a wide choice: Western, Khmer, and also Chinese options. The dishes are well presented, flavorful, and generous. Special mention for the baguette, of very good quality: excellent, especially with the butter and jam, which allow for a very good French-style breakfast."
Overall Assessment
"Overall, a very good stay, with a few areas for improvement that would allow the establishment to reach an even higher level," summarizes Sara Duong. Cindy identifies "the scale of the spaces offered and the quality of service" as strengths, and suggests "a light refresh (decoration, minor renovation)."
