The airline Firefly, a subsidiary of the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), has announced the upcoming launch of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Siem Reap. This new route will be inaugurated on November 27, 2025, marking a further step in strengthening regional air connections.

Firefly will serve Siem Reap three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) to Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI). The flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering passengers modern comfort and capacity suited to the growth of tourist traffic.
According to information provided by the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), this opening illustrates the dynamism of the Cambodian aviation sector and the effective implementation of the "open sky" policy adopted by the Kingdom.
"This new air link represents another success under the leadership and vision of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and thanks to the joint efforts of the SSCA, the Ministry of Tourism, and other concerned institutions," said H.E. Sinn Chanserey Vutha, Secretary of State and spokesperson for the SSCA.
Already well established in Malaysia, Firefly also operates regional flights to Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia. The addition of Siem Reap to its network thus strengthens connectivity between the main cultural and economic destinations of ASEAN, while contributing to the post-pandemic tourism recovery of Cambodia.
With the arrival of this new airline, Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport now serves 13 international air carriers. The SSCA also confirmed that two other foreign airlines are expected to begin operations before the end of 2025—a promising outlook for the country's aviation competitiveness and regional attractiveness.se pour la compétitivité aérienne du pays et son attractivité régionale.
