This event, now a must in the fashion calendar, showcased seven influential fashion brands unveiling their latest collections under the theme of “fragile heritage”.

The theme invited designers to emphasize cultural heritage in their work, counter the global trend towards homogenized fashion and celebrate the richness of local identities.

Founded in 2013 by Filipino designer Don Protasio and Sophea Ke, Phnom Penh Designers Week has become an essential platform for Cambodian and international designers. Protasio, who remains the creative director, has led the event to notoriety by fostering a community that values creativity intertwined with cultural diversity.

The 2025 edition featured a dynamic mix of womenswear and menswear. The womenswear collections from A.N.D, ESSK, SCT and Alfredo Vaez offered an ambitious collection, from everyday wear to vibrant evening gowns with unique patterns. Menswear featured experimental, urban styles from Ambre Men, Drewe Taylor Designs and Don Protasio himself, combining sensual masculinity with cutting-edge aesthetics.

Models and industry insiders were delighted to attend the event. In particular, model and influencer Koy Anna, former first runner-up for Miss Grand Cambodia 2023, highlighted the opportunity Phnom Penh Designers Week offers in terms of personal and professional development within the fashion scene.

Meanwhile, designers such as Drewe Taylor brought a tropical aesthetic infused with social awareness, tackling themes such as climate change and cultural inspiration from India.

Phnom Penh Designer Week continues to serve as a vital incubator for fashion talent, helping designers establish distinct identities and sustainable business strategies in a relatively small but dynamic market. The event is produced by Fashion Lab in partnership with Rosewood Phnom Penh and supported by leading media and industry partners, ensuring its role as a beacon of innovation and heritage in Cambodia's fashion landscape.
