The Secretary-General of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), Louise Mushikiwabo, has voiced deep concern over the renewed armed clashes between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Kingdom of Thailand along their shared border.

She condemned the violations of the ceasefire agreement signed on 28 July 2025 — as well as the joint declaration adopted in Kuala Lumpur on 26 October 2025 — warning that the violence threatens peace and security across the region.
Acknowledging tragic losses and civilian casualties, Mushikiwabo urged both countries to make civilian protection their absolute priority and to take urgent action to ensure their safety.
She called for full implementation of all commitments made by both parties. In her view, the OIF reaffirms the vital role of international law as the cornerstone for peacefully resolving disputes — in full respect of state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
