Demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, the Cambodian national jiu-jitsu team distinguished itself at the 2025 JJAU Southeast Asia Regional Championships, held in Manila, Philippines.

The Cambodian Jiu-Jitsu Federation proudly sent a team of 18 athletes to compete against more than 400 participants representing countries from across Southeast Asia. Among the delegation were two Cambodian-American athletes making their international debut under the Cambodian flag, symbolizing the expansion and inclusivity of the sport in the country.
H.E. Thong Panhathun, Secretary General of the Cambodian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, highlighted the importance of this regional championship, which serves as an essential platform for the team to refine their techniques and strategies.
“This competition not only showcased the hard work and talent of our athletes, but also served as essential preparation for the 2025 Southeast Asian Games (SEA), which will take place in Thailand next December,” he said.
The 2025 edition marked the second edition of the Southeast Asian Regional Jiu-Jitsu Championships, an event organized by the Southeast Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation to promote regional competition and raise awareness of the sport. Following the inaugural tournament held last year in Bali, Indonesia, this year's championship in Manila continued to build momentum and camaraderie within the Southeast Asian jiu-jitsu community.
As Cambodian athletes return home with their medals and invaluable experience, the national jiu-jitsu federation looks forward to continuing to develop talent and achieve further success on the regional and international stage in the months to come.
