Cambodia & Economy: Fast evolution of Cambodia’s e-commerce sector

The fast evolution of Cambodia’s e-commerce sector has been observed thanks to the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia in making and developing policies and various initiatives to support the advancement of the e-commerce field.

At the event, H.E. SUON Prasith also highlighted CambodiaTrade, a national e-commerce platform established to increase economic opportunities for Cambodian micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular focus on provincial women-led and women-owned enterprises. The platform aims to enable these enterprises to benefit from e-commerce and the digital economy by selling their products and services domestically and internationally. It has also successfully implemented several initiatives in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation.

This panel discussion, which was jointly organised by the Permanent Mission of Cambodia, the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation, and the WTO, was attended by ambassadors, delegates, and representatives from member countries, international organisations, and the private sector.

During the three-day 9th Global Review of Aid for Trade, Cambodian products and the latest laws, regulations, and other relevant publications on economics, trade, and investment in Cambodia were showcased. This took place from June 26 to 28.
