Artistic Harmony at the Heart of Angkor: Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor Celebrates Khmer Creativity

Just steps away from the ancient treasures of Angkor, the legendary Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor unveils a unique exhibition bringing together two of the biggest names in contemporary Cambodian painting. Entitled ‘Harmony,’ this new artistic ode illuminates the century-old hotel with a vibrant spirit, placing Khmer nature and culture centre stage.

Through the recent works of Morn Chear and Nak Noy – both children of Siem Reap, shaped by the beauty and history of their homeland – visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a world where birds, fish, elephants and other animals become messengers of a precious biodiversity rooted in the myths and everyday life of the country.

This colourful fresco, curated by Nat Di Maggio (Tribe Art Gallery), subtly questions the role of each individual in the face of the global ecological emergency: art becomes a call to collective responsibility, a silent plea to preserve natural wonders for future generations.

The exhibition, which can be seen in the elegant salons of the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor or during private tours guided by the artists themselves, is part of a series of cultural initiatives that the hotel has been offering for several years. It follows the acclaimed presentation of Channy Chhoeun's paintings, which opened in January.

It is worth noting that this legendary establishment, founded in 1932 to welcome archaeologists and adventurers exploring the mysteries of Angkor Wat – now a UNESCO World Heritage Site – continues its tradition of excellence and cultural openness. Its ‘Curated Journeys’ programme and heritage activities invite travellers to discover, beyond comfort and refinement, the deep soul of Siem Reap and authentic Cambodia.

In May, the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor saw its prestige renewed with its inclusion, for the fourth consecutive year, in Travel + Leisure's list of the ‘500 Best Hotels in the World’.
