Twenty years ago, no one would have imagined a rainbow procession crossing the streets of Siem Reap. On Friday, May 15, members of Cambodia's LGBTIQ+ community and their supporters will march side by side through the city under the theme "One Community, One Heart."

A high-ranking Cambodian official hailed a sharp decline in social discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community, presenting legal marriage equality not only as a human rights advancement but also as a strategic economic lever for the Kingdom.
