Updated: May 2

The Angkor Archaeological Park welcomed 474,810 foreign visitors in the first four months of 2025, an increase of 12.68% compared to the previous year, according to a report published yesterday by Angkor Enterprise, the agency responsible for managing ticket sales.

Angkor Archaeological Park attracts more than 474,000 foreign tourists in the first four months of 2025

Revenue from ticket sales during this period reached US$22.2 million, an increase of 11.5% compared to the same period in 2024.

In April alone, the park welcomed 76,279 international tourists, generating US$3.49 million in revenue.

The increase in the number of foreign visitors to the famous Angkor temple complex reflects the strong recovery of the tourism sector in Cambodia, said Ms Hun Dany, Secretary of State and spokesperson for the Ministry of Tourism.

‘The increase in the number of foreign tourists is the positive result of close cooperation between the Royal Government and the private sector in promoting the country's tourism potential,’ she emphasised.

In order to improve the experience of international travellers, the Royal Government introduced a new ticketing and control system in January 2025. This new system offers more flexible ticket purchase options for tourists and tour operators, thus simplifying access to the ancient site.

Located in the north-west of Siem Reap province, the 401 km² Angkor Archaeological Park is home to 91 ancient temples built between the 9th and 13th centuries. The park was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 and remains Cambodia's most visited tourist attraction.

In 2024, the Angkor Archaeological Park attracted 1.02 million international tourists, generating US$47.8 million in ticket revenue, according to Angkor Enterprise.
