On Sunday, December 14, 2025, the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra was transformed into a genuine festive paradise with the CULT Christmas Market, an event that drew several hundred visitors eager to discover local offerings.

Organized by the CULT Cambodia association, dedicated to promoting artisans and creators, this free market was open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and brought together over a hundred stands — all offering Fair Trade products in a spirit of ethical and sustainable commerce. Enthusiastic crowds wandered through the hotel’s aisles, enjoying a day filled with gourmet shopping, live music, and cheerful family activities, making it a major highlight of the year-end festivities in Phnom Penh.

Jewelry, Fashion, and Art in the Spotlight
The stalls offered a beautiful diversity of creations. Handmade jewelry crafted from recycled shells, Khmer pearls, and finely worked silver sparkled under the lights, while designers presented unique pieces inspired by local heritage. Fashion also had a strong presence, with eco-responsible clothing for women, men, and children — flowing wild silk dresses, hand-dyed organic cotton shirts, and stylish accessories made from sustainable textiles — all passionately sewn by local artisans. Art lovers were equally delighted, admiring contemporary paintings with reimagined Angkor motifs, coconut wood sculptures, and mixed-media works blending tradition and modernity, created by a new generation of artists.

Gourmet Treats, Cosmetics, and Decor: A Feast for the Senses
The gourmet section made the tastebuds tingle with artisanal tropical fruit jams, premium rums infused with Khmer spices, and festive snacks like pandan or durian Christmas cakes. Natural cosmetics made with essential oils from lemon grass and Cambodian turmeric stood alongside sculpted soaps and eco-certified moisturizers — perfect last-minute gifts.

The home decor offerings were equally radiant, with hand-woven baskets from provincial artisans, glowing bamboo lamps, and wall textiles featuring apsara motifs, turning each purchase into a touch of authentic Khmer charm for festive interiors.
Live Entertainment and Warm Festive Spirit at the Heart of the Event
The lively atmosphere was boosted by a rich lineup of live music: the Christmas choir Musica Felice delighted with traditional songs reinterpreted for the season, followed by festive electronic sets from DJ Circle of Two, making both young and old dance under the palms of the Sofitel.
The Kids Corner, run by Ubiquest, offered Christmas crafts workshops, educational games focused on Khmer artisan skills, and festive face painting — giving parents the freedom to explore the market. The hotel partner also contributed with special Christmas cocktails, Khmer-inspired festive buffets, and wines, enhancing the convivial ambiance.
