On May 18, 2026, Smart Axiata signed a partnership with Canadia Group, including Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC) and Canadia Investment Holding (CIH), to establish a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating digital transformation, enhancing connectivity, and exploring innovative technology-focused initiatives within Canadia Group’s diversified portfolio.

This partnership combines Smart Axiata’s expertise in connectivity, digital services, and technology solutions with Canadia Group’s presence in banking, real estate, infrastructure, and commercial development. Through this collaboration, both parties aim to strengthen digital accessibility, improve user experience, and contribute to the development of Cambodia’s digital economy.
Building on the rise of Connexion and Koh Pich as emerging hubs for startups, entrepreneurs, and international businesses, the partnership aims to enhance the experience of residents and tenants of OCIC’s projects through strengthened connectivity, integrated smart solutions, and innovation-driven collaborations.
“This partnership represents a significant step in our commitment to delivering inclusive digital solutions that benefit all Cambodians,” said Mr. Ritesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Smart Axiata.
“By partnering with Canadia Investment Holding, we want to make digital services more accessible, relevant, and impactful in citizens’ daily lives, while creating new opportunities for individuals, businesses, and communities to participate in and benefit from Cambodia’s growing digital economy.”
Beyond the core of the partnership, particular attention will also be given to supporting the next generation of innovators, notably through initiatives such as the Canadia Impact Fund and Smart Startup Space, as well as the continued development of spaces that foster the emergence and growth of ideas and entrepreneurs.

“This collaboration illustrates our commitment to advancing digital innovation and delivering concrete, high-value benefits that improve our customers’ daily lives,” said Mr. Dominic Notario, CEO of Canadia Bank, a company operating under Canadia Investment Holding (CIH).
“By combining the strengths of Canadia Bank and Smart Axiata, we see significant opportunities for collaboration in key areas such as digital payment solutions, co-branded offerings, loyalty programs, and ecosystem partnerships, to further enhance the customer experience in Cambodia.”
Mr. Thierry Tea, Vice President of OCIC, said this partnership reflects the group’s commitment to innovation across its ecosystem. “This partnership reflects our shared ambition to create more connected and seamless experiences within our developments and communities. By leveraging Smart’s digital capabilities across OCIC’s commercial, industrial, and residential projects, we see strong opportunities to support businesses, founders, entrepreneurs, as well as the overall development of Cambodia’s digital ecosystem.”

Beyond commercial collaboration, this partnership also aims to encourage the development of a broader ecosystem through joint innovation initiatives, knowledge sharing, and cross-sector collaboration, thereby supporting the growth of startups, SMEs, and Cambodia’s digital economy as a whole.
