Phnom Penh: Launch of an Innovative Aviation School by OCIC and WCC-ATC

Cambodia is taking a major step forward in the development of its aviation sector with the joint announcement of a new aviation school. The initiative, the result of a strategic partnership between the OCIC Group, CamTech University and the prestigious WCC Aeronautical and Technological College (WCC-ATC) in the Philippines, aims to train a new generation of skilled professionals to meet the country's growing needs in this field.

Benefiting from the expertise of WCC-ATC, a major player in aeronautical training in Asia with over 50 years' experience, this academy will offer specialised programmes in aeronautical engineering, aircraft maintenance and tourism.

The aim is clear: to support the growth of the Cambodian aviation industry, particularly with the development of the new Techo international airport, which represents a key challenge for the country's economy and infrastructure.

Thierry Tea, a recognised aeronautics expert and member of CamTech University's advisory board, points out that this school will enable Cambodian students from Phnom Penh and the provinces to prepare for high-level technical careers, which are crucial to meeting the challenges of a rapidly expanding sector. By training engineers, technicians and other specialists locally, Cambodia will reduce its dependence on foreign skills while creating many sustainable jobs.

The President of WCC-ATC, Dr Raymond Patrick Guico, expressed his enthusiasm about the potential of young Cambodians and the importance of this cooperation in equipping the country with a skilled workforce ready to meet the challenges of the future of aviation in the region.

This school marks a strategic turning point for Cambodia in the face of a changing aviation sector, embodying a strong alliance between international expertise and local development.
