For this interview, the EuroCham team met with Marc Lambart, Managing Director of Diego Columbus DCC, who shares his journey—from major FMCG brands and international luxury to the creation of the first online store dedicated to premium cigars in Cambodia.

Marc shares his vision of the evolution of the premium lifestyle market in Cambodia, the challenges and opportunities of developing a niche business in an emerging economy, and the importance of partnerships in the hospitality, tourism, and retail sectors. He also discusses new consumption trends, lessons learned from international markets, and his outlook in response to growing demand for high-end experiences.
You have built an impressive international career in FMCG, premium food distribution, and luxury. What brought you to Cambodia, and what attracted you to the premium cigar industry with Diego Columbus?
Marc: Coming to Asia had been my dream for many years! I was working for a Korean company that relocated me to Vietnam in 2012. Then, in 2019, I was recruited as General Manager for Cambodia-Laos by the regional exclusive importer of Macallan, Martin, and Campari whiskies.
A year later, during COVID, I launched the “DIEGO COLUMBUS” Cigar Club, quickly becoming a cigar merchant and establishing partnerships with prestigious brands. To this day, we remain the only e-commerce player for cigars in this market!
