KEPCHILDREN: 2023-2024 Under the Sign of Solidarity and Hope

The KEPCHILDREN association has just published its 2023-2024 activity report, a year marked by notable advances, inspiring encounters and, above all, unfailing solidarity. Founded in 2012 in the peaceful town of Kep, in southern Cambodia, the association's mission is to transform the future of the most vulnerable children through education, health and social support.

KEPCHILDREN: 2023-2024 Under the Sign of Solidarity and Hope

In her editorial, Anne-Sophie Grasset, founder and vice-president, sums up the spirit of the association:

"Every action, every partnership, every helping hand counts and gives meaning to our mission. Together, let's continue to build a fairer, more sustainable future for the children we support."

A Global Commitment to Children

KEPCHILDREN, true to its founding principles, supported 66 students from 27 families this year. The association doesn't just provide school supplies or uniforms: it offers holistic support, from tutoring in Khmer, math and English, to health care, monthly rice distribution and canteen organization. The aim? To enable every child, well nourished and in good health, to embark fully on the path to academic success.

Numbers that speak for themselves

In 2024, KEPCHILDREN was able to count on 40 sponsorships and raised over €65,000 thanks to the generosity of its donors, partners and various fundraising actions. Rigorous expense management has enabled the association to strengthen its cash position, guaranteeing the sustainability of its actions and the transparency of its finances, a commitment renewed each year in a detailed report.

The distribution of students, with a slight majority of girls (36 against 30 boys), bears witness to equitable access to education, even if the decline in male enrolment in the higher grades is a reminder of the persistent challenges at national level.

A Dedicated Team, Committed Partners

KEPCHILDREN's beating heart is its team: on the ground in Kep, passionate professionals and volunteers, often from the families they support, work every day to empower children and their families. In France, a team of volunteers supports communications, partnerships and fund-raising.

The year was also marked by numerous partnerships, both local and international: schools, associations, companies and public institutions joined forces to support KEPCHILDREN's mission. These included the Swiss foundation Mary's Mercy, France Volontaires, Amicale Laïque de Couëron, and companies such as Valeuriad and Funderland.

Concrete projects, tangible results

The school year was punctuated by a series of landmark events: training courses for activity leaders, integration of young people in vocational training, innovative fund-raising events, fairs and donations of equipment. Every action, every euro raised, every partnership forged had a direct and measurable impact on the lives of the children and their families.

Towards a fairer, more sustainable future

While the 2023-2024 activity report highlights the successes of the past year, it also reminds us of the challenges ahead: combating school dropout, strengthening family autonomy, and guaranteeing ever wider access to quality education.

KEPCHILDREN, more than an association, embodies a living chain of solidarity, where every link - donor, volunteer, partner, family - contributes to building, step by step, a better future for the children of Kep.
