The Kantha Bopha hospitals in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, renowned for their commitment to providing free medical care to children, saw their Foundation receive an impressive sum of 4,493,950 dollars during the third quarter of 2025.

Santé & Kantha Bopha : Un élan solidaire remarquable au troisième trimestre

This collection comes from 26,637 generous donors, all united by the will to support a vital cause. These contributions, mixing direct donations in the hospital establishments with financial support via various campaigns, testify to the deep solidarity shown by the Cambodian people and the international community.

This amount stands out as an essential milestone in the continuity of a collective commitment, underlining unwavering support despite some fluctuations compared to previous years. It also represents a significant part of the Foundation's overall funding, which had already accumulated more than 22 million dollars in the first half of 2025.

A Key Foundation in the Cambodian Health System

The health impact of the Foundation matches the donations received. In 2025, the Kantha Bopha hospitals provided free medical services to a vulnerable population: more than 500,000 outpatient consultations, nearly 100,000 serious pediatric hospitalizations, and thousands of surgical interventions, including complex heart operations. The attention given to pregnant women, with nearly 52,000 prenatal exams and 9,400 deliveries, illustrates the mission extended to maternal and child health.

This comprehensive care, supported by public and private funding as well as innovative fundraising campaigns ("10,000 Riels, 10,000 Donors"), embodies a unique model in the region, based on accessible and quality care, guaranteeing each Cambodian child an equal chance to benefit from appropriate treatment.

Unifying Campaigns and Structuring Partnerships

The year 2025 was marked by several initiatives to extend the philanthropic momentum. Among them, the national campaign "10,000 Riels, 10,000 people" represented a vibrant call for solidarity, mobilizing a large part of the public under the evocative slogan of "Khmer helping Khmer." Supported by many public figures, companies, and financial institutions, this operation strengthened the ties between the Foundation and its partners, expanding both awareness and ease of access to donations via modern tools like QR code payments.

The development of banking partnerships, particularly with BRED Bank Cambodia, illustrates this strategy. The bank deployed innovative services facilitating secure donations, thus consolidating the donor base nationally while exploring international bridges to increase contributions from France. Digital innovation here meets social mobilization in a dynamic seen as essential by decision-makers and engaged actors.

A Strategic Vision Toward the Future

Facing current and future challenges, the Kantha Bopha Foundation does not rest on its laurels. The Board plans a variety of actions for 2026 and beyond: maintain and intensify awareness campaigns, nurture relationships with government institutions and local authorities, produce video content highlighting hospital activities, and pay tribute to the founder, Dr. Beat Richner. Furthermore, broadening donation channels through a renewed website and a dedicated application are central digital projects.

The future also involves a renewed call to families, public figures, and the private sector to support these initiatives during major events, thus consolidating an active, engaged, and sustainable community for the health of Cambodian children. The Foundation affirms its strong will to be an indispensable pillar of local healthcare, creating hope and smiles, one child at a time.

In summary, the third quarter of 2025 marks a significant milestone in the history of the Kantha Bopha Foundation. With nearly 4.5 million dollars collected, the Foundation continues to embody a model of excellence and solidarity in Cambodian pediatric health. Its tangible impact on the ground, combined with an innovative mobilization strategy, outlines a future where access to free care for children remains a fundamental right. The commitment of donors, whether citizens or institutional partners, remains the essential driver of this humanitarian mission, full of promise for generations to come.
