FrancoTech Innovation Competition 2026 Opens Applications to Celebrate Digital Innovation Across Francophone Nationss

Phnom Penh, Cambodia 9 July 2026 —The year 2026 marks a landmark year for Cambodia as the Kingdom hosts the 20th Francophonie Summit, welcoming participation from the 90 member states and governments of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).
In conjunction with the 20th Francophonie Summit, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia (MPTC) and Ministry of Women's Affairs are co-organizing FrancoTech, an official side event dedicated to promoting digital innovation and strengthening collaboration across the Francophone community. As part of this initiative, MPTC is proud to announce the official launch of the FrancoTech Innovation Competition 2026, an international competition recognizing breakthrough digital innovations that are shaping the future of Francophone nations.

Held under the theme “Digital Innovation Across Francophone Nations”, the competition aims to recognize outstanding innovations that drive digital transformation and sustainable development across Francophone communities while empowering startups, innovators, developers, research and development teams, and technopreneurs to showcase impactful solutions addressing real-world challenges.
The competition welcomes participants from Francophone countries across diverse sectors and emerging technologies in two main award categories:
● Best Digital Innovation Award
● Best Women Technopreneurs Award
These categories are designed to encourage technological advancement, promote inclusive innovation, and strengthen the role of women leaders within the digital economy and digital startup ecosystem.
Competition Timeline
● Applications Open: 9 July 2026
● Application Deadline: 1 September 2026
● Semi-Final Round: 16 September 2026
● Final Judging and Award Ceremony: 15 November 2026
Selected finalists will receive USD 2,000 in financial support to attend the Final Judging and Award Ceremony in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where they will connect with innovators, partners, and leaders from across the Francophone ecosystem.
Winners of the competition will receive prestigious medals alongside financial recognition:
● 1st Place: Gold Medal valued at USD 3,000
● 2nd Place: Silver Medal valued at USD 2,000
● 3rd Place: Bronze Medal valued at USD 1,000
H.E. Sam Sethserey, Director General of General Department of Information and Communications Technology at MPTC, emphasized: “The FrancoTech Innovation Competition 2026 reflects our shared vision to strengthen digital innovation, foster cross-border collaboration, and empower innovators across Francophone nations. Innovation has no borders. The solutions that improve healthcare in Africa may inspire education in Southeast Asia, while technologies developed in Canada may help address challenges in Cambodia. The spirit of FrancoTech Competition is to bring together digital innovators, ideas, and opportunities across the Francophone community, transforming innovations into solutions with community and global impact.”
The FrancoTech initiative previously gained international attention through its 2024 edition held in France at Station F in Paris, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, government leaders, and ecosystem builders from across the Francophone world. Building on this momentum, the FrancoTech Innovation Competition 2026 continues the shared vision of strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital collaboration across Francophone nations by serving as a strategic platform connecting innovators, startups, R&D teams, and ecosystem builders while promoting emerging technologies and stronger international cooperation among Francophone communities.
Applications are now open to startups, innovators, and R&D teams from Francophone countries.
