A new generation of Cambodian filmmakers and media professionals will soon have the opportunity to experience first-hand the practical use of artificial intelligence–based video production tools.

The event will be led by Khannak Chinthouy, known professionally as KC, a Phnom Penh–based post-production manager who collaborates with international clients through The VDO Aigency, a U.S.-based company specializing in video post-production.
On Saturday, January 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., KC will co-host a hands-on workshop on AI-powered video generation at ATM Studios Photography Studio, located in TTP1 (256, Street 480, Phnom Penh).Aimed at directors, editors, students, and digital creatives, the workshop seeks to demonstrate how AI tools are being practically integrated into professional editing and visual storytelling workflows.
A practical immersion in enhanced video production
Unlike a traditional conference, this session will be fully interactive. Participants will create their own AI-generated images and video clips while learning best practices for integrating these technologies into modern post-production workflows.
“This workshop aims to show that these tools are not something to be feared,” explains Khannak Chinthouy. “Artificial intelligence has now become part of the daily work of production teams around the world. The idea is to help Cambodian creatives use these tools responsibly and professionally so they can position themselves in the international market.”
The rise of Cambodian creative skills
As Post-Production Manager at The VDO Aigency, KC oversees a growing team based in Cambodia while maintaining international production standards. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen local capacity and transfer technical skills to Cambodian professionals — a key factor in developing the country’s audiovisual sector.
According to a UNESCO Bangkok (2024) report on cultural and creative industries in Southeast Asia, Cambodia is experiencing rapid growth in creative professions — particularly in digital design, video production, and animation.Education in emerging technologies such as AI is therefore an essential lever for boosting the competitiveness of local talent (UNESCO, 2024).
Topics covered during the workshop:
Integration of AI into modern post-production workflows
The evolving role of editors and post-production teams
Career opportunities for Cambodian creatives in international productions
Global standards and expectations in audiovisual production
