Seventeen private business leaders from Yunnan province have pledged to explore Cambodia's emerging tourist destinations, promote joint marketing activities, organise collaborative events and develop new tourism packages aimed at attracting more Chinese tourists from Yunnan to Cambodia, particularly Siem Reap.
H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, met with the delegation for a working discussion on November 6, 2024 on the occasion of accompanying Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's visit to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit, the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit and the 11th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit.
The seventeen businesses include companies that organise tour packages and bring in tourists, as well as companies involved in developing tourist destinations and Siem Reap Angkor International Airport.
H.E. Huot Hak highlighted Cambodia's tourism potential and investment opportunities, as well as the incentives put in place by the government. At the end of the discussions, all the companies agreed to organise visits to further explore Cambodia's new tourist destinations.
