The Cambodia Trade Expo (CTE) - a flagship exhibition on the theme of ‘Trade Renaissance’ to showcase the best products made in Cambodia - took place from 14 to 16 December 2024 at PH Grand Hall Centre, Borey Peng Huoth.
At the inauguration, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his support for this annual event, which has been a great success since 2006.
”It is a business platform to promote Cambodia's business opportunities in international markets,” he said.
The CTE ran until 16 December 2024 at the PH Grand Hall Centre, Borey Peng Huoth Boeung Snor, with various side events including product exhibition and sales, the first digital business forum with online exhibition, Cambodia-Korea trade and investment forum, business twinning activities, Cambodia export sector forum and finally several concerts.
On the first day, H.E. Mrs Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, stated that the ETC's ambition was to ‘strengthen Cambodia's trade promotion activities, improve the business and investment climate, and promote import and export exchanges between local and international exhibitors, visitors and participants’.
In this respect, she continued, beyond the wide range of products and services that will be exhibited, the exhibition will also function as a device enabling Cambodia to strengthen its commercial relations with the international market by also providing a space for foreign partners to showcase their offerings.
H.E. the Minister stressed that the Ministry was taking this opportunity to revitalise this flagship exhibition with innovative ideas and to revive the country's unique cultural and commercial identity with well thought-out and attractive displays and decorations to further enhance the appeal of the products on display by vendors.
In the first eleven months of this year, Cambodia's trade volume amounted to US$50.45 billion, with exports at US$24.34 billion, an increase of 14.36%, while imports were recorded at US$26.1 billion, an increase of 17.48%.
