In a large-scale humanitarian effort, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Vice-President of the Samdech Techo Volunteer Youth Doctors Association (TYDA), led a vast medical mission providing free care to nearly 4,000 residents of Kampong Speu province.

This initiative took place on the morning of February 28 at Bun Rany Hun Sen Chanthnal High School in Samaky Monichey district. It delivered essential medical services directly to vulnerable communities, benefiting citizens from Samaky Monichey, Thpong, and Oral districts, as well as Oudong Mae Chey city.
Addressing the participants, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony highlighted the unwavering commitment of the President of the Cambodian Senate, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, and the President of the Cambodian Red Cross, Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, to the well-being of the Cambodian people.
She emphasized that TYDA's missions embody a constant prioritization of public health, ensuring that even patients with serious conditions are referred to major hospitals in Phnom Penh, with full financial and logistical support.
The First Lady outlined the association's core objectives: collaborating with the Ministry of Health to provide high-quality care to all citizens, regardless of ethnicity, skin color, or political affiliation; supporting the Royal Government's mission to reduce poverty by deploying medical teams to disadvantaged and isolated rural areas; and training the next generation of healthcare professionals by offering students and young volunteers hands-on experience in humanitarian work.
The scale of the mission was impressive, with over 400 specialist doctors from renowned Phnom Penh hospitals voluntarily providing their expertise. Most treatments were carried out on site, but Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony specified that patients requiring advanced surgery or specialized care would be transferred to expert facilities in the capital, directly supported by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and herself.

Founded in 2023 under the auspices of Prime Minister Hun Manet, TYDA has multiplied these missions to strengthen access to care in rural provinces, in partnership with the Ministry of Health. This sixth mission in Kampong Speu is part of a series of initiatives that have already treated tens of thousands of Cambodians since its creation.
The Governor of Kampong Speu province, His Excellency Dr. Cheam Chan Sophorn, expressed deep gratitude to the TYDA team, crediting the ongoing support of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many, Minister of Civil Service and head of the Royal Government's working group for Kampong Speu province. These efforts significantly alleviate the financial burden on local families.
Local residents who benefited from the care described this mission as an "unprecedented act of generosity," praising the direct access to high-quality medical services within their own community.
