Techo International Airport carries out in-flight inspections

The inspection programme for the Class 4F Phase I airport began on 8 September under the chairmanship of H.E. Mao Havanall, Minister in charge of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation (SSCA).

A flight inspection is an operation to check the necessary techniques and equipment installed, such as air traffic control (ATC), the instrument landing system (ILS/DME), air navigation, the radar approach, the radio communication system and others, to ensure that all the equipment is safe.

The event was attended by executives and technical teams from the SSCA and the Airport Operations Coordination and Management Committee, as well as representatives from Cambodia Airport Investment Co.

According to the SSCA, Techo International Airport (IATA code KTI) will be officially opened in the first half of 2025.

Managed by Cambodia Airport Investment Co, Ltd, the project is a public-private partnership between Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC), which holds a 90% stake, and the State Secretariat for Civil Aviation, which holds the remaining 10%.

As a large-scale level/class 4F international airport, built on 2,600 hectares of land, this airport is divided into three construction phases, including phase 1 from 2020 to 2030, phase 2 from 2030 to 2050 and phase 3 from 2050 onwards.

The first phase of Techo International Airport will be able to handle a maximum of 13 million passengers and 175,000 tonnes of freight per year.
