Over the decades, these literary icons have drawn inspiration from the rich history, culture and charm of Southeast Asia. Today, Raffles Hotel Le Royal pays tribute to their work at the Writers Bar, located in the luxuriously appointed lobby of this 96-year-old hotel. The Writers Bar and main lobby have been redesigned following an inspired renovation.

‘With its timeless elegance and literary soul, the Writers Bar at Raffles Hotel Le Royal is much more than just a cocktail bar. It is an ode to the art of storytelling, the romance of travel and the spirit of those who shaped history with their words,’ said Dagmar Lyons, General Manager of Raffles Hotel Le Royal.

Highlights of the Writers Bar's new menus include

A literature-inspired drinks menu called ‘Signature Cocktails from the Pages of History.’ This carefully crafted menu is inspired by iconic books, films and literary greats who have shaped the art of storytelling across generations.

The ‘Espresso Martini Collection’ offers a refined selection of espresso martinis made with coffees from different regions, each with a unique twist, paying homage to the timeless relationship between writers and their favourite caffeine.

The ‘Wine Library’ offers an exceptional selection of the finest international wines, showcasing vintages from regions with a deep connection to literature.

The Signature Champagne Cocktails menu features an elegant selection of champagne cocktails created exclusively for the Writers Bar, celebrating the glamour and indulgence of the literary world.

The Writers Bar's Champagne O'Clock is available daily from 5pm to 7pm and includes a special ‘buy one, get one free’ offer.

The Writers Bar now pays tribute to the golden age of writing with new vintage typewriters and books on display. This space is intended as a haven for writers, hosting book launches, author meetings, poetry readings, storytelling sessions and much more.
