On May 5, 2025, the coastal city of Sihanoukville celebrated the official opening of TUI BLUE Sihanoukville, a new luxury hotel operated by German company TUI BLUE Hotels & Resorts. This is TUI's first hotel project in Cambodia.

The 17-story TUI BLUE Sihanoukville has nearly 200 modern rooms and suites designed to “meet the needs of travelers seeking authentic and culturally rich experiences.” The hotel features a fully equipped gym, an outdoor pool, a conference room, and a ballroom, making it a prime destination for business and leisure travelers in the heart of the bustling city, close to the coastline of the Gulf of Thailand.”

The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Mang Sineth, Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, who expressed their unwavering support for this investment. H.E. Huot Hak praised TUI's commitment to Cambodia's growing tourism sector and highlighted the government's incentives and support for such developments.

Artur Gerber, CEO of TUI BLUE Hotels & Resorts, emphasized that this hotel was just “the beginning of many planned projects in Cambodia.” He highlighted the country's vibrant culture and tourism potential, as well as the collaborative efforts with local partners to deliver exceptional hospitality.

Mr. Gerber also highlighted the strategic importance of adding Cambodia as a new destination to TUI's expanding Asian portfolio, which currently includes 22 resorts and 26 more under development across Asia.

Peter Krueger, Chief Strategy Officer of the TUI Group, commented on the company's continued growth in Asia, stating that the expansion not only attracted new partners but also offered attractive vacation experiences for travelers from Europe and Asia.

“The TUI BLUE brand is known for its experience-focused offerings, including local cultural activities, wellness programs, and culinary experiences featuring authentic regional dishes,” he emphasized.

The opening of TUI BLUE Sihanoukville follows a successful collaboration initiated at the International Travel Fair in Berlin (ITB Berlin) in March 2025 and a hotel management partnership signed at the end of 2024 between TUI BLUE Hotels & Resorts and Prince Real Estate Group, which owns the property formerly known as Prince Times Hotel. This partnership is expected to boost inbound tourism and enhance Sihanoukville's profile as a regional tourist destination and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination.

The hotel sector in Sihanoukville has recently seen the arrival of other international brands such as Novotel Sihanoukville Holiday Resort and JATI Island by Shinta Mani Hotels, making the city a rapidly developing hub for tourists seeking luxury and unique experiences.

“With the opening of TUI BLUE Sihanoukville, the coastal city of Cambodia is expected to attract more international travelers, contributing to the country's economic growth and job creation in the region,” said TUI BLUE, adding:

“This historic opening is a key milestone in TUI's ambitious Asian expansion strategy, demonstrating its confidence in Cambodia's tourism potential and its commitment to delivering world-class hospitality experiences across the region.”
