His Royal Highness Crown Prince William Jean Joseph Marie of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has been visiting the Kingdom of Cambodia since 29 March 2025, according to the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

During his visit, which will conclude on 3 April, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie, accompanied by H.E. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, will meet H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
His Royal Highness the Crown Prince is also expected to meet a number of Cambodian dignitaries.
‘The high-level visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia by H.R.H. Crown Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie will strengthen the existing good bilateral relations between Cambodia and Luxembourg,’ the ministry said.
Prince Guillaume Jean Joseph Marie, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg, is set to ascend the throne as the next sovereign of the Grand Duchy. Born on 11 November 1981 at the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg City, he is the eldest son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. Guillaume has held the title of Lieutenant-Representative since 8 October 2024, an important step in the royal family's tradition of voluntary abdication, marking the beginning of the gradual handover of power from his father.
William's academic background includes studies in international politics at the Royal College of Defence Studies in the UK and a degree in literature and political science from the University of Angers in France. He also gained professional experience through internships with multinational companies such as Deutsche Bank and ArcelorMittal. His active involvement in Luxembourg's economic initiatives includes chairing trade committees and promoting business development through organisations such as Luxembourg for Business.
Married to Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy since 20 October 2012, Guillaume shares two sons with her: Prince Charles (born 10 May 2020) and Prince François (born 27 March 2023). The family maintains close ties with Luxembourg's cultural and economic circles, while preparing for William's eventual reign under the name of William V.
The transition of power was made official at a lieutenancy ceremony at the Grand Ducal Palace in October 2024. At this event, William assumed constitutional powers comparable to those of a royal regent, symbolising his desire to lead Luxembourg into its next chapter.
