For the first time ever, Cambodia hosted a major economic and cultural event: the Best of India Expo 2025, held from 20 to 24 August at the Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre.

This exhibition, jointly organised by ANM Exhibition and Exhicon Event Media Solution Ltd., with the support of the Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh, stands out as an exceptional showcase of Indian expertise in the fields of industry, crafts and trade.
In a modern setting reflecting the economic ambitions of both countries, the launch was attended by high-ranking representatives, including the presidents of the Indian Business Chamber in Cambodia, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (InCham) and the Indian Association of Cambodia Community, as well as many private sector players who had travelled from India especially for the event.
A showcase of Indo-Cambodian opportunities
With more than 50 Indian companies in attendance, ranging from major brands to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the exhibition reflects the vitality and diversity of the Indian economy. It is an opportunity for the Cambodian public – entrepreneurs, investors and visitors alike – to discover the wealth of Indian products, ranging from textiles and jewellery to agri-food products, technological solutions and healthcare.
In his speech, Ambassador Vanlalvawna Bawitlung recalled that India and Cambodia, two rapidly growing economies, have considerable potential for mutual collaboration.
‘The Best of India Expo 2025 is not just a showcase, it is a bridge between our two nations, a platform where our businesses can create synergies, strengthen market access, and where Cambodian consumers can discover the diversity and excellence of Indian products,’ he emphasised.
For her part, Minister Cham Nimul emphasised the need to increase bilateral cooperation and take advantage of economic complementarities. She invited the Cambodian media to widely promote the exhibition in order to encourage the general public to participate. ‘This exhibition is a unique showcase for the Cambodian people, as it illustrates the full potential of a balanced and win-win partnership with India,’ she said.
India and Cambodia: a shared history, a common future
The exhibition is part of a broader dynamic in which Indo-Cambodian relations have been strengthening for several years, both diplomatically, economically and culturally. With strong historical ties dating back thousands of years, marked by the spread of Indian culture and civilisation in Southeast Asia, the two nations are now working to translate these cultural affinities into concrete economic opportunities.
Bilateral trade, which already exceeds several hundred million dollars a year, still remains below its potential. According to local economists, Cambodia offers India privileged access to the ASEAN market, while India can in turn provide Cambodia with technology, pharmaceuticals, high value-added textiles and expertise in digital services.
In this context, the organisation of the Best of India Expo 2025 in Phnom Penh appears to be a decisive step towards stimulating the creation of partnerships, encouraging cross-investment and consolidating constructive economic dialogue.
A milestone in Indo-Cambodian friendship
The Best of India Expo 2025 is not just a trade fair. It is part of a strategy to consolidate relations between India and Cambodia, both economically and culturally. For Phnom Penh, this is a historic first that could pave the way for other bilateral initiatives.
This event marks another step forward in a cooperation that is set to grow and deepen. Through this Expo, a common vision of a shared future is emerging, built on trade, innovation and friendship between two peoples linked by a common cultural heritage and a desire for mutual prosperity.
